This course includes a study of the science of biblical interpretation and systematic triology employing logical Bible study techniques including historical-cultural and contextual analysis, lexical-syntactical analysis, and emerging hermeneutical methods. Expectations of doctoral learners are more advanced than master’s or bachelor’s learners. Emphasis is placed on adaptation of methods to various types of literary genre, analysis of structural arrangement, word studies, and principles of practical application. Students will keep exegetical notebooks on selected passages.
